“Hospice Hoedown” Featuring Brett Kissel

Strathroy Jets Partner with Strathroy Hospice for “Hospice Hoedown” Featuring Brett Kissel

STRATHROY, ON — Boots, cowboy hats and country music are coming to Strathroy as the Strathroy Jets partner with Strathroy Hospice to launch a brand-new community fundraiser: the Hospice Hoedown, featuring Canadian country star Brett Kissel live in concert.

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, March 13 at noon, and organizers expect strong demand as excitement builds for what promises to be one of the most unique community events the region has seen.

The Strathroy Jets say the Hoedown is another example of how the organization is using its platform to bring the community together for important local causes.

“Community has always been the foundation of the Strathroy Jets,” said Matt Laberge, Director of the Strathroy Jets. “Our fans don’t just support hockey — they support the people and causes that make this community special. The Hospice Hoedown is a chance to celebrate together while helping bring something incredibly meaningful to Strathroy.”

Building a Hospice for the Community

Funds raised from the Hospice Hoedown will help support the development of Strathroy Hospice, a long-planned facility that aims to provide compassionate end-of-life care for residents in Strathroy-Caradoc and surrounding communities.

Currently, many families must travel outside the region to access hospice and palliative care services. Community leaders and volunteers have been working for years to establish a local hospice that allows residents to remain close to home during life’s most difficult moments.

The proposed hospice will provide specialized care in a peaceful setting designed to support both patients and their families.

Jets Continue Tradition of Community Impact

While the Strathroy Jets are known for high-energy hockey and sold-out crowds at the Gemini Sportsplex, the organization has also become recognized for its impact off the ice.

Over the past several seasons, the Jets and their fans have raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities and families in need through themed game nights, jersey auctions and community partnerships.

The Hospice Hoedown continues that tradition.

“One of the things that makes the Jets special is the way our fans rally around a cause,” Laberge said. “We’ve seen it time and time again — when Strathroy comes together, incredible things happen.”

A Country Concert with a Cause

Headlining the evening will be Brett Kissel, one of Canada’s most popular country music performers. Known for his energetic live shows and multiple chart-topping hits, Kissel’s performance will turn the fundraiser into a full-scale community celebration.

Organizers say the night will feature live country music, fundraising initiatives, and a high-energy atmosphere designed to bring the entire community together.

“We wanted to create an event that people would genuinely be excited about,” Laberge said. “Great music, a great crowd, and a great cause. That’s a pretty powerful combination.”

A Night for the Community

For the Strathroy Jets, the Hospice Hoedown represents everything the organization strives to stand for — bringing people together while supporting the community that supports them.

“Hockey is what brings everyone into the building,” Laberge said. “But the real goal is building something bigger than the game itself. Events like this help create a lasting legacy for our community.”

With excitement already building across the region, organizers are encouraging fans to secure tickets early once they become available.
