Jets beat Bluebirds - Up next 1st place showdown with Killer Bees
Four goals in both the second and third periods was the difference as the red hot Strathroy Jets downed the visiting Tilbury Bluebirds 9-3 at the Gemini last Friday in front of a big crowd for CMHA night.
Justin McIntyre and Kobe Ferreira combined for 6 points in the contest, Rob Schremp had 3 points with multiple Jets earning two points each. Strathroy fired a whopping 80 shots at the Tilbury net outshooting the visitors 80-42, and earning their 9th straight win.
Strathroy tallied 2 more powerplay markers, increasing their PP% to 26.5% and moving to the top spot as the Metropolitan Conference's #1 powerplay.
The Jets also currently hold the #1 penalty kill in the entire conference with a 93.1% success rate while shorthanded.
With his 2 goals versus Tilbury, Brandon Buck took over the team lead in points with 20 through the 10 games he has played and at 2 point/game current scoring clip.
Now just one point behind division leading Alvinston, this Friday will be the game to watch at this stage in the season as the Killer Bees come to town and another chapter in this rivalry gets written at the Gemini at 7:30pm.
