Jets look to keep the smiles going as they host Tilbury on CMHA night
The Strathroy Jets will look to keep rolling as they host the Tilbury Bluebirds Friday at home. Coming off a 5-0 win over Orangeville last week, Strathroy now winners of eight in a row, remain the hottest team in the Metropolitan Conference with sights on a first place showdown a week away versus Alvinston.
The biggest mistake Strathroy could make is look past a Tilbury team that has been playing well of late, winning three in a row and with a victory over the Jets, would vault past the idle Stratford Irish into third spot in the South Division.
The Jets lead the season series 2-1 with the last contest, a 6-3 Strathroy win back on November 28th. Special teams could be a key variable and the Bluebirds will look to stay out of the penalty box. Strathroy went 3 for 4 on the powerplay in their last win last week and sit with a 24.5% powerplay efficiency rate. Tilbury has room for improvement on both ends of the special teams spectrum clipping at 86% on the penalty kill and just 15% on the powerplay.
Offensively Tilbury will look to their two big guns to carry a majority of the weight with Dylan Denomme so far this year tallying 11 goals and 30 points in 14 games, and their sniper Jake Durham one a goal a game pace leading the team with 18 goals in 15 games. Durham is also tied for the most goals in the conference.
Also at the game, a special focus on mental health. Kingma & Kap Platinum Key Realty will be sponsoring the evening with many different opportunities at the game to raise funds for CMHA. Fans can enter a free raffle for a signed Brandon Prust Montreal Canadiens jersey plus there will be a live auction in the 2nd intermission for a signed game worn jersey and meet and greet with Rob Schremp.
Fans are encouraged to come to the game, grab a ticket, and help raise some much needed funds to support CMHA.
Jets and Bluebirds Friday 7:30pm from the Gemini.
