Jets set to put win streak on the line against winless Lakers

Coming up at the Gemini Sportsplex Friday night, it's a cross-conference match-up as the Strathroy Jets host the Woodstock Lakers, two teams currently heading in different directions.

The Jets winners of five in a row will try to make it six while the Lakers will be looking for their first win of the season currently losers of ten straight.

If Woodstock is looking for something that needs a boost, that could most definitely be the powerplay sitting currently at a 11% efficiency rate, and that comes full circle with their leading scorer. Ethan Tichenoff, the former Alvinston Killer Bee and former PJHL leading scorer with the North Middlesex Stars is the straw that should stir the Lakers' drink. He is on a 1.1 points per game pace, however the Lakers only have 27 goals total after ten games and he leads the team in scoring with only 9 points.

On the other side of the red line, the Jets bolster a strong lineup as Head Coach Jacques Beaulieu continues to work his roster with the right combinations of players game in and game out. Two main stays in that roster you could argue would be team leading scorer Wes Baker and team assist leader Brandon Buck, both of which currently sit inside the top 20 in league scoring, with Baker sitting top 10 in goals and Buck top 15 in assists.

On paper, Friday night's game should be no contest, but that's why you play the games, and that's why sports are so much fun.

Puck drop at 7:30pm from Gemini.
