MacQueen tallies 3 points as Jets win 8th straight heading into clash with Bluebirds Friday
The Strathroy Jets continued their stellar play last Friday as they blanked the Orangeville Blitz 5-0 at the Gemini, good enough for their 8th straight win and climbing to within 3 points of the idle Alvinston Killer Bees for first in the Metropolitan's South Division.
Kobe Ferreira had the winner, Jamie MacQueen had a goal and two assists, and Evan DeBrouwer stopped all 36 shots he faced for the shutout. The Jets went 3 for 4 on the powerplay improving their efficiency to just under 24.5% with 11 PP goals on 45 opportunities after 15 games.
Next up for Strathroy, a divisional matchup as they will host the Tilbury Bluebirds, winners of their last three games and now only one point behind Stratford for third in the South. The Jets will need to stay focused on this game with a battle with first place Alvinston on the horizon the week after.
Also this Friday, a strong focus will be placed around Canadian Mental Health Association Awareness Night, with donations being accepted for the cause.
The Jets are giving away a SIGNED Brandon Prust Montreal Canadiens JERSEY at Friday’s game!
Anyone at the game can enter to win, just show up and get your entry in!
Jets and Bluebirds this Friday 7:30pm from the Gemini.
